Job summary

Kids for the Future is seeking an Instructional Assistant for elementary and secondary grades in Alpena, MI. The IA will assist in planning and implementing programs for students with regular and special needs, including personal care, instructional activities, and behavior support.

Qualifications

• Education requirement: High school diploma or GED.
• Preferred: Associate degree or 60 college hours; CPI certification preferred.
• Experience with special needs students preferred; CPI certification or willingness to obtain CPI certification.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning and implementing programs for regular and special needs students.
• Assist with personal care, instructional activities, and behavioral support as needed.
• Assist in implementing IEP and 504 plans and related accommodations.
• Assist with data collection and documentation for individual students.
• Supervise students in lunchroom, playground, and other areas as assigned.
• Support teachers in behavior management and instructional modifications.

Education

High school diploma or GED
