Job summary

Alpena Public Schools in Alpena, MI is seeking an Instructional Assistant to support students in regular and special education settings, including lunchroom, classroom, and playground.

Under the supervision of the building administrator and certificated staff, you will assist with instruction, behavior management, data collection, and the implementation of IEP/504 plans. CPI certification may be required; a high school diploma or GED is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; associate degree preferred.
• CPI certification is preferred at next available opportunity.
• Experience with special needs students is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist students in reaching their maximum potential as independent learners.
• Support individual or small group instruction and tutor pupils as needed.
• Assist with implementing and documenting behavior plans and interventions.
• Help with setup and preparation of instructional materials.
• Supervise students in various school settings, including lunchroom and playground.
• Maintain attendance and assist with data collection and reporting.
