Job summary

The Michaels Companies Inc. in Minnetonka, MN, is seeking an Event Coordinator to plan and run in-store events, including kids’ parties and craft classes.

You will guide guests through activities, assist with checkout, and coordinate event logistics to deliver a fun, safe, and memorable experience. You will engage customers, promote rewards programs, and support omni-channel processes while maintaining a high standard of store cleanliness and customer service.

Qualifications

• Retail and/or customer service experience required
• Energetic and enthusiastic personality
• Excellent people skills and strong communication ability

Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate multiple events (e.g., children’s parties, crafts)
• Engage with clients of all ages to create a fun, creative environment
• Demonstrate crafts and lead participants, including face painting
• Coordinate party add-ons (goody bags, balloons) and communicate plans to clients/store team
• Handle emails, calls, and paperwork; adjust events based on feedback
• Ensure store safety, cleanliness, and SOP compliance during events
