Kids in Tech SPARK AmeriCorps Program in Massachusetts seeks AmeriCorps Members to deliver school-day tutoring and after-school STEAM enrichment to elementary and middle school students. You will lead hands-on coding, robotics, engineering, and digital literacy activities, reinforcing instruction and supporting families during Family STEM Nights.
As a 1200-hour, full-time service member, you will receive professional development, a living allowance, and an Education Award upon completion.
Kids in Tech prepares students from under-resourced schools for the future by increasing access to high-quality STEAM education. Through hands-on learning experiences, students build skills in technology, engineering, coding, computational thinking, and digital literacy while developing confidence, creativity, and problem-solving skills. The SPARK (STEAM Pathways through AmeriCorps Resources for Kids) AmeriCorps Program provides direct service to elementary and middle school students through two complementary service components: school-day academic support and after-school STEAM enrichment. AmeriCorps Members provide one-on-one and small-group tutoring, reinforce teacher-directed instruction, and facilitate engaging, project-based learning experiences in coding, robotics, engineering, computational thinking, and digital literacy. Members also prepare instructional materials and technology, support Family STEM Nights, participate in AmeriCorps orientation, required trainings, National Days of Service, and complete approved program documentation. Throughout their service, members receive comprehensive professional development in STEM instruction, youth development, classroom management, leadership, and career readiness. Members may also have opportunities to participate in specialized training and earn professional certifications or credentials as available. Service takes place in partnership with schools and community organizations across Boston, Somerville, and Lowell, Massachusetts. This is a 1200-hour, full-time AmeriCorps service opportunity. Members serve approximately 40 hours per week from October 5, 2026 through June 16, 2027. Upon successful completion of the service term, members are eligible to receive a Segal AmeriCorps Education Award, a living allowance, and other program benefits. This opportunity is ideal for individuals who are passionate about education, STEAM, youth development, leadership, and community service.
