AmeriCorps Emerging Leaders Program STEM Robotics- (YP) in Virginia is seeking a part-time facilitator to lead after-school robotics clubs for high school seniors. You will mentor up to 8 students, supervise volunteers, and coordinate a year-long program aligned with the Carnegie Mellon curriculum and Common Core standards.

You will assist with competitions, manage inventories, and support outreach and marketing to partners and students.

• Assist with the organization of youth events.
• Assist with ELP marketing and outreach efforts (students, mentors, and volunteers).
• Engage community partners in supporting ELP activities, including middle and high school administrators as well as college admissions staff.

The clubs meet weekly, 1.5 hours/session, throughout the school year to work through the LEGO MINDSTORMS EV3 curriculum, which has been vetted by the Carnegie Mellon Robotics Academy and aligns with Common Core standards. At the end of the first 11 weeks, teams showcase their acquired skills and knowledge in a friendly competition. They will also lead the STEM Robotics Competition team as they participate in local/regional tournaments in the fall. Additionally, the AmeriCorps STEM Robotics Clubs Facilitator mentors up to 8 high school seniors (College Preparation and Civic Engagement) students throughout the school year.
