Reading Area Community College invites applications for a Keyboarding (I & II) Instructor – WF. This hourly position pays $37.00 per hour and offers a flexible schedule including daytime, evenings, and Saturdays as required.
The Keyboarding Instructor will deliver on-campus and may work at an assigned off-campus location, teaching a curriculum that builds keyboarding skills, proper typing techniques, and document formatting. Experience in adult education is a plus.
Compensation: $37.00 per hour
Flexible Schedule, include daytime, evening, and Saturday hours as required by the needs of the position.
The Keyboarding Instructor reports to the Associate VP of Workforce & Continuing Education who will assign location and hours of the Instructor activities. The Instructor provides academic instruction and student academic support for assigned academic department. The Keyboarding Instructor is responsible for teaching a curriculum to students that focuses on the competencies and skills needed to learn the different parts of a computer and keyboard, proper techniques of all letters, symbols, and numbers. Keyboarding level I is a pre-requisite to Keyboarding level II. The Instructor will teach formatting business letters, memos, centering and printing envelopes all while supporting students to increase typing speeds. This position will require instruction on‑campus and/or at an assigned off‑campus location.

To perform this job successfully, an individual should be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office (especially Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and Internet skills. Knowledge of Learning Management Systems or other administrative software a plus.
Teaching (preferred).
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one or two-step instructions. Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.
