The Key Account Manager (KAM) plays a critical role in driving revenue growth by managing and developing strategic relationships with key national accounts. This position focuses on creating long-term partnerships, ensuring client satisfaction, and achieving sales objectives. The KAM serves as the primary point of contact for assigned accounts and works cross-functionally to deliver tailored solutions that align with client needs and organizational goals. This position will report to the Chief Commercial Officer.
Key Responsibilities
- Account Management – Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with national accounts. Serve as the primary point of contact for client communications, negotiations, and issue resolution. Develop and implement strategic account plans to achieve revenue and growth targets.
- Sales and Revenue Growth – Identify opportunities to upsell or cross-sell products and services. Meet or exceed sales quotas and financial objectives for assigned accounts. Analyze account performance and implement strategies to maximize profitability.
- Strategic Planning – Conduct regular market analysis to understand industry trends and client needs. Collaborate with internal teams to design and execute customized solutions for clients. Develop proposals, presentations, and contracts that address client requirements.
- Collaboration and Coordination – Partner with internal departments (e.g., marketing, product development, customer service) to ensure seamless delivery of services. Coordinate with regional or local account managers to ensure consistency across multi-site clients. Lead account reviews and planning sessions to align goals and strategies.
- Reporting and Analytics – Monitor account performance metrics, including sales, customer satisfaction, and market share. Prepare regular reports on account activity, opportunities, and challenges. Use data to forecast revenue and identify areas for improvement.
- Customer Advocacy – Act as the voice of the customer within the organization to ensure client needs are prioritized. Conduct regular business reviews to assess client satisfaction and refine strategies as needed.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or a related field; MBA is a plus.
- Proven experience (5+ years) in account management, sales, or business development, preferably managing national or key accounts.
- Experience in [industry-specific knowledge if applicable, e.g., FMCG, retail, B2B, healthcare].
- Strong interpersonal and relationship-building abilities.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Analytical mindset with proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, CRM systems).
- Strategic thinker with the ability to translate plans into actionable outcomes.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently or collaboratively.
- Flexibility to adapt to the dynamic needs of the accounts and organization is essential.
- This role may require frequent travel to meet with clients and attend industry events.
