Job summary

The Salvation Army Weatherford Service Unit in Weatherford, TX is seeking a motivated coordinator to recruit, screen, and train bell ringers for the annual kettle program and ensure adequate staffing across locations.

Responsibilities include planning schedules, maintaining records, coordinating events, communicating with staff and volunteers, and driving to kettle sites as needed while upholding the organization's mission and standards.

Qualifications

• High School or G.E.D.
• One year experience working with kettle fund raising programs preferred.
• Any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Responsibilities

• Interviews, recruits, screens and selection of bell ringing staff and volunteers ensuring all sites are covered effectively.
• Plans, schedules, and assigns work of staff and volunteers; instructs in proper methods and procedures; checks and approves work in progress and upon completion to ensure accuracy and completeness as well as compliance with Salvation Army policies and procedures.
• Maintains contact with staff and volunteers throughout their service; answers questions, concerns or problems; recognizes workers through correspondence by mail, in person or by phone.
• Prepares and maintains up-to-date records and databases for daily kettle income information; prepares reports regarding the status of the kettle program; provides staff and volunteers with documentation of the hours worked.
• Plans, coordinates, and prepares special events; prepares plaques and certificates of recognition; prepares and maintains special event records for future reference.
• Meets with community leaders and organizations and discusses Salvation Army needs.
• Drives Salvation Army vehicle(s) to deliver and collect kettles and supplies to kettle locations and workers.
• Assists with counting, recording and depositing of kettle funds.
