Job summary

STV seeks a seasoned civil engineering design leader to become the Kentucky Area Manager for the Transportation Group. You’ll drive growth, diversify markets, and lead a team across roadways, civil/site, aviation, geotechnical, geospatial, transit, railroad, and planning.

You will mentor engineers, shape strategy, win new work, and deliver projects while representing STV in Kentucky’s communities and client networks.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Civil Engineering or a related field.
• Kentucky registration or ability to obtain reciprocity within 6 months; sign & seal.
• 20+ years of experience in relevant markets with operations leadership and project delivery.
• Proven leadership of multidisciplinary design teams and strategic growth.

Responsibilities

• Represent STV with clients, the industry, and the broader community across Kentucky.
• Build robust client relationships with STV service team leaders.
• Maintain close professional relationships with key client, teaming partner, industry, and community contacts.
• Create and implement plans that align with STV’s strategic objectives.
• Identify, recruit, and develop talent to grow the business and ensure succession.
• Manage local business activities: client mix, services, win work, hire locally, plan resources, control overhead.
• Ensure operation adheres to STV’s policies and procedures.
• Identify, mentor, and train the next generation of future leaders.
• Analyze client, business, and industry issues to capitalize on trends in Kentucky.
• Assess performance and address shortfalls; recognize exceptional contributors.
• Analyze and report on business performance and take timely corrective actions.
