Job summary

Ocotillo Animal Clinic and Pet Resort in Chandler, AZ is a full‑service veterinary and boarding facility seeking a positive team member to join our fast-paced team. You will help care for dogs and cats, assist with wellness vaccines and exams, grooming, and daily kennel duties.

The ideal candidate is caring, capable of multitasking, and communicates well with clients. Prior animal handling experience is preferred, and Avimark is used to manage client records and scheduling.

Qualifications

• Previous animal handling experience preferred.
• Basic knowledge of animal behavior.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills; good judgment under stress.

Responsibilities

• Take dogs outside for breaks and supervise playtimes.
• Clean and disinfect kennels, yards, hallways and equipment.
• Feed and medicate dogs and cats per schedule and instructions.
• Monitor for signs of illness or injury and report to the veterinary side.
• Control and restrain animals as needed.
• Bathe, brush, and trim nails.
• Check-in and check-out clients from boarding stay.
• Schedule boarding reservations.
• Use Avimark to update client records.

Ocotillo Animal Clinic and Pet Resort is looking to add a quality team member. Our clinic is located in Chandler, Arizona. We are a full‑service animal hospital providing veterinary care and boarding services to dogs and cats. We offer services such as wellness vaccines, sick exams, surgical services, x‑rays, ultrasound, grooming, overnight boarding and daycare services.

Responsibilities

• Take dogs outside for breaks multiple times a day and bring them to playtimes.
• Clean and disinfect kennels, yards, hallways and equipment.
• Feed and medicate dogs and cats according to schedule and instructions.
• Monitor for any signs of illness or injury and report to the veterinary side.
• Control and restrain animals as needed.
• Bathe, brush, and trim nails as needed.
• Check‑in and check‑out clients from boarding stay.
• Schedule boarding reservations.
• Utilize phone skills to make calls to schedule reservations and provide updates to clients as well as to get records from other clinics.
• Prioritize multiple tasks in a calm, organized manner.
• Use Avimark to add documentation and update client records.
• Maintain a positive attitude in all interactions with clients, pets and teammates.
• Demonstrate ability to show empathy toward clients and treat pets with compassion and respect.

Qualifications

• Previous animal handling experience preferred.
• Basic knowledge of animal behavior.
• Ability to work independently on assigned tasks as well as to accept direction on given assignments.
• Possession of organizational skills.
• Critical thinking – understanding logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.
• Must possess strong verbal and written communication skills, good judgment and ability to manage stressful situations.
