Job summary

Ocotillo Animal Clinic and Pet Resort in Chandler, AZ is seeking a friendly receptionist to join our fast-paced team. You will check in/out clients, schedule appointments, dispense medications per Vet instructions, and maintain accurate records using Avimark.

We value excellent customer service, empathy for clients and pets, and the ability to multitask calmly. Prior Avimark experience is preferred; training may be provided for the right candidate.

Ocotillo Animal Clinic and Pet Resort is looking to add a quality team member. Our clinic is located in Chandler, Arizona since 1999. We are a full-service animal hospital providing veterinary care to dogs and cats. We offer services such as wellness vaccines, sick exams, surgical services, x-rays, ultra sound and Wellness Plans.

As a Receptionist You Will

• Schedule: 4 days a week, 9.5 hour shifts
• We are open Mon-Fri 7:30AM-5:30PM & Sat 7:30AM-1PM, schedules are usually 7:30AM- 6PM and 7:30PM-1:30PM on Saturday
• Check In and Check out Clients
• Dispense Prescription items per Vet instructions
• Schedule appointments
• Phone skills to make calls and assist with scheduling
• Prioritize multiple tasks in a calm, organized manner
• Use Avimark to add documentation and update client records
• Maintain a positive attitude in all interactions with clients, pets and other teammates.
• Demonstrate ability to show empathy toward clients and treat pets with compassion and respect.

Responsibilities / Qualifications

• Knowledge of veterinary medical terminology and procedures.
• Experience with Avimark is preferred.
• Ability to work independently on assigned tasks as well as to accept direction on given assignments.
• Possession of organizational skills.
• Critical thinking – Understanding logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.
• Must possess strong verbal and written communication skills, good judgment and ability to manage stressful situations.
