Job summary

Applitrack is seeking a Special Education Classroom teacher for Chicago Heights Middle School to serve K-8 in a self-contained/resource setting.

The successful candidate must hold an Illinois State Teaching Credential with a Special Education endorsement. Responsibilities include developing IEPs, individualized instruction, collaboration with staff, and effective communication with parents, under the district’s guidelines.

Qualifications

• Must hold an Illinois State Teaching Credential with a Special Education endorsement for grades K-8.
• Experience in self-contained/resource classroom settings is preferred.
• Ability to collaborate with teachers, paraprofessionals and support staff.

Responsibilities

• Establish rapport with students and motivate each learner.
• Plan, implement and evaluate IEP goals and adjust as needed.
• Prepare detailed lesson plans aligned with curriculum and standards.
• Collaborate with paraprofessionals, 1:1 aides, social workers and psychologists.
• Communicate with parents and coordinate with staff for student progress.
