Job summary

Keshet is seeking a licensed Special Education teacher for a K-8 self-contained classroom in Northbrook, IL. You will implement IEPs, plan behavioral goals, and support students’ academic, social, and life skills in both classroom and community settings.

The role requires IL SPED licensure, eligibility for LBS-1/2, and experience with significant needs. A driver’s license, CPR, and Safety Care certification are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required and IL SPED license valid or eligible.
• Hold or be eligible for LBS-1 or LBS-2 certification.
• Experience with students with significant needs (autism, ID, physical or behavioral challenges).
• Calm leadership in a fast-paced environment; ability to guide para-educators.
• Driver’s license with safe driving record; CPR and Safety Care certification.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs and Behavior Plans with data collection.
• Design instructional goals, daily living and transition programming.
• Collaborate with related service personnel to meet IEP needs.
• Manage classroom staff and site operations; monitor students’ progress.
• Assist with community-based instruction and transitions.
