New Roads School in Santa Monica seeks a K-8 Learning Specialist to support a neurodiverse student population within the Student Support Program. You will work with the Assistant Director of Learning and the team to develop strategies that help each student reach their full potential.

Responsibilities include administering Learning Support from K to 8, collaborating with teachers and families, and leading differentiated instruction and testing accommodations across environments.

Qualifications

• Master’s or equivalent in Educational Psychology, Educational Therapy, or Neuropsychology (recommended).
• Extensive knowledge of learning differences and diversity.
• Strong collaboration skills with children and adults.
• Experience with executive function interventions and literacy instruction.
• Familiarity with Orton-Gillingham or similar science-based reading approaches.

Responsabilités

• Oversee administration, allocation and delivery of Learning Support from Kindergarten to 8th Grade.
• Provide individualized strategies addressing diverse learning needs and adapt instruction.
• Collaborate with administration and faculty to meet each student’s needs.
• Communicate proactively with families to support child’s needs and wellbeing.
• Identify and implement differentiated classroom strategies for all students.
• Monitor effectiveness of accommodations and provide new differentiation strategies.
• Serve as liaison between school and other service providers.
• Develop responsive curricula for student support classes.
