Job summary

The International School of San Francisco seeks a Lower School Learning Specialist to provide direct learning support for students in grades K-5 within a holistic approach to addressing diverse needs.

Reporting to the Director of Student Support, you will collaborate with the student support team to develop data-informed learning plans, support executive functioning, and foster an inclusive, joyful environment for neurotypical and neurodiverse learners.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or professional coursework indicating training applicable to responsibilities.
• Expertise in language and literacy development, bilingual setting preferred.
• Knowledge of French is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

• Support the Director of Student Support in gathering and interpreting data on student progress.
• Maintain records of student progress and services per school policies.
• Collaborate to identify students with needs and develop data-informed learning plans.
• Design and deliver data-informed learning plans considering academic and social-emotional needs.
• Provide small group Tier 2 support in English for 20+ hours of direct contact.
• Support after-school study hall and executive functioning development.
• Coach faculty on accommodations and inclusive classroom practices.
• Communicate with families and caregivers with regular progress reports.
• Chaperone overnight trips and participate in school life as assigned.
