Qualifications

• An Associate’s degree or proof of completion of at least two years of college credits in any field is required; focus in education and early childhood development desired.
• Ability to maintain a clean and orderly environment.
• Ability to perform clerical duties.
• Ability to operate common office machines.
• Ability to maintain basic files and records.
• Ability to understand and follow oral and written directions.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships as necessitates by work assignments.
• Physical ability to lift/carry 20 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Instructs students in a small group setting using content materials provided by academic coaches.
• Establishes clear objectives for all lessons, units and projects using formal and informal assessment data.
• Follow all rules, policies and procedures of The Roger Bacon Academy, along with state and federal regulations pertaining to school issues.
• Create a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of students.
• Provides evidence of preparation and planning upon request of supervisor.
• Assess the accomplishments of intervention students on a regular basis and provide progress reports as required.
• Assist the administration in implementing all policies and/or rules governing student life and conduct, and for the classroom, develop reasonable rules of classroom behavior and procedure, and maintain order in the classroom in a fair and just manner.
• Counsel with colleagues, students, and/or parents on a regular basis.
• Encourage and reward positive behavior.
• Attend grade level and staff meetings, serves on staff committees and carries out non-instructional duties as required as assigned.
• Produce instructional data reports in accordance with calendar from Lead Teacher and Coaches.
• Remain flexible and positive for any given assignment.
