Job summary

Classical Charter Schools of Wilmington, part of the Roger Bacon Academy network, is seeking an Interventionist to provide direct instruction to students eligible for academic services in small groups or individual settings.

The role supports teachers and coaches to help students master the curriculum and achieve standardized test goals while fostering social development and a positive classroom environment.

Qualifications

• An Associate’s degree or proof of completion of at least two years of college credits is required.
• Ability to maintain a clean and orderly environment.
• Ability to perform clerical duties.
• Ability to operate common office machines.

Responsibilities

• Instructs students in a small group setting using content materials provided by academic coaches.
• Uses identified needs to guide the learning process toward student achievement of school standards.
• Establishes clear objectives for all lessons using formal and informal assessment data.
• Follow all rules, policies and procedures of The Roger Bacon Academy, along with state and federal regulations pertaining to school issues.
• Create a classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate to student age and interests.
• Provide evidence of preparation and planning upon request of supervisor.
• Assess the accomplishments of intervention students on a regular basis and provide progress reports.
• Assist administration in implementing policies governing student life and conduct, and establish classroom rules.
• Counsel with colleagues, students, and parents on a regular basis.
• Encourage and reward positive behavior.
• Attend grade level and staff meetings and participate in non-instructional duties as required.
• Produce instructional data reports in accordance with calendar from Lead Teacher and Coaches.
• Remain flexible for any given assignment.
