Chicago Public Schools is seeking a licensed teacher for the West Side of Chicago. The role involves delivering high-quality instruction, tracking student progress, and maintaining classroom discipline in line with CPS standards.

The incumbent will collaborate with case managers and general education staff to address diverse student needs, apply Illinois IEP guidelines, and contribute to a supportive learning environment that emphasizes equity and academic success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher from a regionally accredited institution.
• Completion of the CPS online application and teaching profile at cps.edu/teach.
• A valid teaching license issued by the Illinois State Board of Education, with the appropriate endorsement(s) for the role.

Responsabilités

• Demonstrate a deep understanding of content, pedagogy, and student knowledge to select objectives and design instruction and assessments.
• Create an environment for effective student learning with respectful classroom culture and strong management of behaviors.
• Respond to the needs of all students by designing engaging instruction with challenging questions and aligned assessments.
• Exhibit strong oral and written communication and professional judgment in interactions with administration, colleagues, families, and students.
• Prioritize student safety through consistent implementation of the Student Code of Conduct and school-wide systems.
• Personalize student learning through mastery and use of curriculum and technology resources.
• Advocate for the district’s vision and equity-focused themes across instruction.
