Job summary

Sunbelt Staffing seeks a School Social Worker for a full-time contract to support a diverse K-12 population in Michigan. The role emphasizes direct SEL sessions, documentation, and collaboration with educators and families.

Start in October 2026 through February 2027 to cover maternity leave, with most work centered on K-5 and some middle/high school students. Caseload includes about 30 students, with 14 seen 2–4 times per month and 16 seen 1–2 times per month.

Qualifications

• Experience as a School Social Worker in educational settings.
• A valid certification/licensing to practice as a School Social Worker.
• Strong understanding of IEP/504 processes and documentation.
• Ability to work independently and manage a flexible caseload.
• Excellent communication and collaboration with teachers, staff, and families.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct social-emotional support to students in scheduled 30-minute sessions.
• Maintain accurate documentation of student progress and services.
• Participate in eligibility meetings, IEP reviews, and multidisciplinary team collaborations.
• Offer guidance to school staff and families on student social-emotional development.
• Adapt interventions to meet individual student needs and support inclusive learning environments.
