Job summary

Sunbelt Staffing is seeking a certified School Social Worker for a contract position in a dedicated K-12 district in Michigan. You will advocate for students’ social, emotional, and behavioral growth and collaborate with educators, families, and multidisciplinary teams to support IEP goals.

Assignments begin ASAP and run through June 2026, offering a stable, long-term opportunity to impact student success in a vibrant educational setting. Strong counseling and documentation skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Certified School Social Worker with active certification (310).
• Experience supporting K-12 students, preferably in special education environments.
• Solid understanding of behavioral and emotional needs in school settings.
• Ability to provide individual and group counseling services.
• Strong collaboration with teachers, families and multidisciplinary teams.
• Excellent communication, documentation and organizational abilities.

Responsibilities

• Deliver school social work services to K-12 students, fostering a supportive learning environment.
• Assess students' social, emotional, and behavioral needs to develop interventions.
• Collaborate with special education staff, teachers and families to create individualized support plans.
• Promote positive peer relationships, conflict resolution, and healthy coping strategies.
• Support compliance with IEP goals and documentation requirements.
• Advocate for students navigating academic, family, or community challenges.
