Job summary

Memphis School of Excellence is seeking an Intervention Specialist for the 2026-2027 academic year. You will work with individual students or small groups, using identified rubrics to target needs and monitor progress.

You will plan and deliver short-term interventions in reading, writing, and mathematics in alignment with the school curriculum. You will develop intervention schedules, maintain progress records, and communicate updates to staff and parents.

Qualifications

• Requires a Bachelor's degree.
• Highly qualified; Administrative experience is preferred.
• Governing rules: Tennessee Code Annotated & Tennessee Board of Education.
• Must be physically and mentally able to perform the responsibilities and duties of the position.

Responsibilities

• Work with individual students or small groups to provide educational interventions and progress monitoring.
• Use an identification rubric to target students needing focused, short-term intervention beyond normal campus provisions.
• Set performance goals for students based on assessment data.
• Develop lessons targeting identified students' needs.
• Provide high-quality general education instruction for short-term interventions in reading, writing and/or mathematics.
• Develop an intervention schedule based on campus needs.
• Maintain records of interventions and progress monitoring for fidelity.
• Meet with teachers to align lessons with classroom curriculum.
• Communicate progress with campus staff, network staff and parents.
• Evaluate student progress.
• Provide supplemental intervention for bilingual students as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
