Job summary

Arlington Public Schools is seeking an Elementary Mathematics Interventionist to provide Tier II and III support at Peirce Elementary School. The role emphasizes data-driven planning, small-group instruction, and collaboration with teachers, coaches, and school leaders.

The successful candidate will hold K-5 elementary teaching or elementary mathematics specialist certification and use diagnostic and benchmark measures to tailor instruction for diverse learners, including multilingual students.

Qualifications

• K-5 elementary teaching or math specialist certification.
• Content and pedagogical understanding of elementary mathematics.
• Experience differentiating mathematics instruction for all learners.
• Ability to work collaboratively with staff and leadership.
• Ability to administer, score, and interpret diagnostic and benchmark measures.
• Plan small group instruction based on diagnostic and benchmark measures.

Responsibilities

• Building-based math interventionist.
• Regularly review data to identify students for Tier II mathematics instruction.
• Work with students on developing their understanding of mathematics through their strengths.
• Collaborate with specialists and teacher leaders to foster MTSS.
• Collaborate with SEI staff to support multilingual learners.
• Connect regularly with interventionists, coaches, and school leaders.
