Job summary

Young World Physical Education in Charlotte, NC seeks a dedicated Assistant, Teacher K-3 to support teachers and students in grades K-3. Under supervision, you reinforce instruction, monitor progress, and help manage the classroom environment.

Responsibilities include small group instruction, supervising students in various areas, enforcing policies, coordinating with teachers, and performing clerical tasks to aid daily operations.

Qualifications

• Minimum: Associate’s Degree or 48 credit hours or pass a formal assessment (Workkey and 96 hours of in-service training).
• Alternate pathways include NC DOL Apprenticeship Program or NC ATA Professional Development Plan.

Responsibilities

• Assist children individually or in small groups to reinforce learning.
• Supervise students in classrooms, halls, cafeterias, school yards, and gymnasiums, or on field trips.
• Enforce administration policies and rules governing students.
• Discuss assigned duties with classroom teachers to coordinate instructional efforts.
• Instruct and monitor students in the use and care of equipment and materials to prevent injuries and damage.
• Observe students’ performance and record relevant data to assess progress.
