Zusammenfassung

Alpha School seeks a Youth Development Coach to guide K-3 students through app-based learning, diagnose gaps, and design short, targeted sequences. You will stay with your class from launch to closing, building daily goals and using data to name gaps for families.

The role is full-time on-site at one campus, with relocation support and a focus on real impact over paperwork. Structured-literacy methods training is preferred.

Qualifikationen

• At least 3 years direct work with children ages 4-9 in teaching, coaching, tutoring, camps or similar.
• At least 2 years of that experience teaching reading in grades K-3 (within last 5 years).
• Completed structured-literacy training (LETRS, IMSE, Orton-Gillingham, Wilson, Fundations, UFLI, CERI, Neuhaus, SIPPS, Really Great Reading) or a master’s in reading or literacy.
• Bachelor's degree in any subject; teaching certificate not required.
• Legally authorized to work in the US without visa sponsorship.

Aufgaben

• Coaches K-3 students to daily learning goals and closes reading gaps.
• Runs short structured-literacy sessions with small groups, diagnosing gaps from running records and fluency probes.
• Leads morning launch, life-skills workshops, and check-chart activities to keep six-year-olds moving.
• Drives weekly app goals using school currency and gamification.
• Stays with students through lunch, recess and closing, addressing frustration with planned interventions.
