Job summary

Alpha School in the United States is seeking a Youth Development Coach to guide K-3 students through app-based core learning and close reading gaps. You will stay with your students from morning launch to closing, delivering short literacy sequences and targeted interventions designed to raise daily learning goals.

The role is full-time and on-site across Alpha campuses, with relocation support and a structured literacy emphasis.

Qualifications

• At least 3 years working directly with children ages 4-9
• At least 2 years teaching reading in grades K-3 within the last 5 years
• Completed structured-literacy training: LETRS, IMSE, Orton-Gillingham, Wilson Reading System, Fundations, UFLI, CERI, Neuhaus, SIPPS or similar; or a master’s in reading/literacy
• Bachelor’s degree in any subject; teaching certificate not required
• Legally authorized to work in the US without visa sponsorship

Responsibilities

• Coaching 4–9 year olds through app-based core learning; diagnose gaps and unblock progress
• Running short structured-literacy sessions with 2–4 students and ensuring transfer of learning
• Leading morning launch, life-skills workshops, and daily check-chart activities
• Maintaining presence with students through lunch and recess, guiding frustrated students with plans
• Staying with students from launch to closing and meeting daily goals
