Job summary

Alpha School is hiring for a full-time, on-site Guide to work with K-3 students across app-based core learning. You will stay with the same students all day, spot gaps, and design quick sequences to close them.

You will lead morning launch, literacy workshops, and check-chart activities, guiding students toward weekly app goals with leaderboards and gamification. Requirements include 3+ years with children ages 4-9, 2+ years teaching reading in K-3 in the last 5 years, and structured-literacy

Qualifications

• On-site work at listed campuses with relocation support.
• At least 3 years working directly with children ages 4-9.
• At least 2 years teaching reading in grades K-3 within the last 5 years.
• Structured-literacy training or a master’s in reading/literacy.
• Bachelor’s degree; teaching certificate not required.
• 70% of day spent guiding app-based learning; 30% on targeted reading sessions.
• Legally authorized to work in the US without visa sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Coaching students through app-based core learning to identify gaps and unblock them.
• Running targeted structured-literacy sessions for 2–4 students.
• Leading morning launch, life-skills workshops, and check-chart activities.
• Driving weekly app goals with school currency, leaderboards, and gamification.
• Staying with students through lunch, recess, closing, and reading interventions.
