Job summary

Uintah Elementary seeks a Literacy Support Paraprofessional to provide targeted reading interventions for grades K-3. You will implement evidence-based strategies, support the teacher, and help maintain individualized reading plans with data updates.

The role requires working 28.75 hours per week (5.75 hours/day) in a non-exempt, part-time position and involves in-person collaboration within classrooms and reading spaces. Training on the Science of Reading is provided.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Previous related experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead evidence-based reading interventions aligned with the Science of Reading for students with Individualized Reading Plans.
• Work closely with classroom teachers and the literacy coach to ensure interventions are delivered with fidelity and aligned with students’ IRPs.
• Assist with literacy building activities and strategies.
• Develop aide schedules in collaboration with administrators.
• Complete ongoing Science of Reading training to ensure best practice is followed.
• Collaborate with teachers to review student progress and adjust interventions as needed.
• Coordinate and communicate instructional plans and schedules related to interventions.
• Monitor IRPs schoolwide and report updates and documentation needs to classroom teachers.
• Support teachers in maintaining IRPs, including data collection and progress monitoring.
