Job summary

Ampact is seeking a Coaching Specialist to advance student literacy and numeracy outcomes by delivering expert coaching, on-site support, and data-guided guidance to ensure fidelity to k-3 Reading Corps models. The role supports Hempstead, Freeport, Roosevelt, and Lawrence districts with site partnerships and staff development.

The position emphasizes collaboration with schools, data-driven decision making, and strong stakeholder engagement to maximize program impact and equity in education.

Qualifications

• Strong relationship-building, consultation and conflict resolution skills.
• Experience facilitating adult learners through training, coaching, supervision and observation.
• Experience using literacy/numeracy assessments and data-based decision-making models (e.g., MTSS).
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with diverse groups.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical coaching to tutors at assigned schools to ensure Ampact Education program models are delivered with fidelity and students make adequate progress.
• Collaborate with school staff to identify and prioritize students to receive targeted intervention and build a schedule that maximizes students served.
• Review program data regularly to ensure completeness and accuracy and monitor student progress.
• Lead data-based decision-making teams at the site to review data and plan interventions that meet student needs.
• Maximize program impact by helping staff understand the program’s purpose and by using tutoring resources and data effectively.
• Facilitate positive relationships with partnering sites by communicating the value of Ampact programs and supporting coaches and tutors.
• Inspire program advocacy in school leaders by sharing data clearly and accessingibly.
• Other duties as assigned.
