Seton Catholic Schools in Milwaukee, WI seeks an Act 20 Early Literacy Coach (K–3) for a 10-month, part-time role. You will work with K–3 educators, literacy coaches, and administrators to strengthen early literacy systems and implement science-based reading instruction.

The coach will model, coach, observe, provide feedback, lead professional learning, conduct literacy audits, and collaborate with school and district teams, aligned with DPI Act 20 expectations.

Qualifications

• Valid Wisconsin Teaching License.
• Holds or eligible for Wisconsin Reading Specialist License (5017/317).
• Minimum 3 years successful K–3 teaching experience.
• Demonstrated knowledge of evidence-based early literacy instruction.
• Experience using assessment data to inform instruction.

Responsibilities

• Provide instructional coaching using DPI’s Act 20 Early Literacy Coaching Model.
• Lead continuous improvement cycles with general and specialized educators.
• Facilitate evidence-based small and large-group professional learning.
• Conduct a comprehensive K–3 literacy audit using DPI’s template.
• Develop and implement an annual coaching plan.
• Support MLSS implementation for early literacy.
• Coach educators on screening, diagnostics, and personal reading plans.
• Meet bi-weekly with administrators to review data and set priorities.
• Maintain confidentiality of students, teachers, and families.
