Savannah-Chatham County Public School System is seeking a SY 26-27 Literacy Coach to lead ELA literacy instruction for K-3 students. The role emphasizes non-evaluative coaching, data-informed feedback, and professional learning to strengthen district curriculum alignment with the science of reading.

The position requires a GaPSC certificate, 5+ years of relevant experience, and commitment to earning a Literacy Endorsement.

Qualifications

Valid GaPSC certificate, excluding provisional, nonrenewable, or strategic waiver certificates.
Minimum of five years of classroom or literacy intervention experience (K-3).
Knowledge of scientifically based reading research and data analysis.
Bachelor's degree in Education or related field.
Advanced reading endorsement or related training (LETRS, Orton Gillingham, etc.).
Commitment to complete the Georgia Literacy Coaching Endorsement within three years.
Evidence of instructional leadership and mentoring ability.

Responsibilities

Coach educators using nonevaluative, evidence-based practices with coaching and feedback.
Collaborate with the school principal to create a strategic plan for literacy coaching.
Spend at least 70 percent of the school day in classrooms with students and teachers.
Analyze MTSS data to inform instruction and coaching goals.
Design and deliver job-embedded professional learning.
Support district and regional literacy initiatives and alignment with the science of reading.
Perform other duties as assigned.
