Job summary

Alpha School in the United States is seeking an Instructional Coordinator to lead structured-literacy workshops for K-2 students in a fully in-person setting at one of Alpha's campuses (Fort Worth, Dallas area or other TX campus). The role centers on data-informed small-group instruction using Orton-Gillingham, LETRS, Wilson, or equivalent approaches, with AI-adaptive tools integrated into daily practice.

The compensation is $100,000 USD per year, paid weekly, with benefits starting day one.

Qualifications

• Structured-literacy certification OR a Master’s degree in reading instruction.
• Bachelor's degree plus 2+ years of full-time K-2 structured reading instruction within the past 5 years in a school or clinical environment, utilizing systematic phonics or structured literacy.
• Proven ability to develop your own reading lessons and clearly explain what you teach and how, without dependence on a published program.
• Proven ability to assess reading progress and articulate specific student gains in areas such as fluency, accuracy, phonics, or decoding.
• Willingness to work in person full-time at one Alpha campus: Phoenix, AZ; Oklahoma City or Tulsa, OK; Fort Worth (Keller), Dallas, Plano, or The Woodlands, TX; or Park City (Salt Lake City), UT (relocation assistance available).
• Willingness to work with all K-2 students (not exclusively struggling readers) and to incorporate AI and adaptive-learning tools into daily instruction.
• Legally authorized to work in the U.S. without visa sponsorship

Responsibilities

• Create and facilitate small-group K-2 reading workshops rooted in structured-literacy approaches (Orton-Gillingham, Wilson, LETRS, IMSE, or equivalent), informed by authentic student data.
• Conduct daily motivation sessions that ensure 100% of your students achieve their weekly adaptive-app targets, leveraging Alpha's motivational framework (school currency, leaderboards, age-appropriate gamification).
• Administering and evaluating running records, fluency probes, and decoding assessments to monitor progress and modify upcoming instruction.
• Analyzing AI-generated performance data from Alpha's adaptive learning applications to differentiate instruction dynamically, not solely during advance planning.
• Serving as the approachable, energetic adult your K-2 students are excited to see each day
