Job summary

Alpha School seeks a dedicated Literacy Coach to deliver small-group K-3 reading sessions rooted in structured-literacy approaches such as Orton-Gillingham, LETRS, Wilson, or IMSE. You will analyze AI-driven performance data, adjust instruction on the fly, and document progress for weekly campus reviews.

Required are a structured-literacy certification or a Master’s in reading instruction, plus 2+ years of full-time K-3 teaching.

Qualifications

Certification in structured literacy (Orton-Gillingham, LETRS, Wilson, IMSE, etc.) OR a Master's in reading instruction
Bachelor's degree plus 2+ years of full-time K-3 structured reading instruction in school or clinical setting
Ability to design original reading lessons and explain instructional approach without a published program
Willingness to work in person full-time at an Alpha campus across listed CA/WA/CT/MA/NY locations
Familiarity with AI/adaptive learning tools in daily instruction
Authorized to work in the U.S. without visa sponsorship

Responsibilities

Create small-group K-3 reading sessions using live app analytics and structured-literacy approaches
Lead daily motivation sessions to drive targets using Alpha's framework
Analyze AI-generated metrics to adapt instruction during the day
Conduct running records, fluency and decoding assessments, and report progress weekly
Be a positive, engaging presence for students each day
