Job summary

Hingham Public Schools in Massachusetts is seeking dependable substitutes to cover classrooms across PreK–12 on an as-needed basis. Primary duties include delivering instruction per lesson plans, maintaining classroom management, and ensuring student safety throughout the day.

Candidates should have an associate degree or 60 college credits, and experience teaching PreK-12 is preferred. The district offers flexible scheduling and a pay rate of $145 per day.

Qualifications

• Associates degree or completion of 60 college credits (transcripts required).
• Experience teaching students Prek-12, preferred.
• Strong ethical and moral decision making.

Responsibilities

• Follow lesson plans, or in absence of lesson plans may need to create/develop plans and activities to provide continuity of learning.
• Take attendance and ensure student safety in the classroom throughout the school day, including during breaks and transitions.
• May be required to record grades, and provide feedback to the regular teacher about student progress and classroom activities.
• Adapt to a variety of teaching styles, subjects, and grade levels.
• Effective communication with students, staff members.
• Strict confidentiality and compliance with state and federal laws around professional ethics, sensitive information about students and professional staff, information about disabilities, educational plans, behavior, learning or teaching styles, etc.
• Other duties as assigned.
