Job summary

Hingham Public Schools is seeking substitute paraeducators to support students across prek-12 in Hingham, MA. Positions are on an as-needed basis with flexible scheduling and duties that include assisting teachers and supporting classroom management when regular paraeducators are absent.

Responsibilities include providing individualized attention, maintaining a safe classroom, assisting with attendance and materials, and supporting daily living activities as needed under teacher direction.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalency, required.
• Experience working with students in educational setting.

Responsibilities

• Providing individualized attention to students, reinforcing lessons, and helping them understand class material.
• Maintain a safe and orderly classroom environment, supervising students during various activities and redirecting inappropriate behavior when needed.
• Help with taking attendance, preparing materials, implementing lessons, and communicating with the teacher about student progress or concerns.
• Under the direction of the teacher or school staff, may assist in providing daily living activities for students with disabilities.
• Other duties as assigned.
