Job summary

ProCare Therapy in Georgia is seeking a contract Sign Language Interpreter to support K-12 students in a school-based role near Zebulon. You will facilitate communication, ensuring access to curriculum and inclusive learning experiences for Deaf and hard-of-hearing students.

The position runs through May 2027 with consistent weekly hours, competitive compensation, and plans for insurance and retirement benefits; daily responsibilities include in-class interpreting, collaboration with teachers

Qualifications

• Valid Education Interpreter License required.
• Experience interpreting in educational or school settings.
• ASL proficiency.
• Experience with K-12 students, teachers, and multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
• Commitment to confidentiality and professional ethics.

Responsibilities

• Offer in-class and school-wide sign language interpretation for students and staff.
• Interpret lectures, discussions, meetings, and other communications in academic and extracurricular environments.
• Support teachers by ensuring curriculum content is accessible and communication barriers are removed.
• Collaborate with educators and IEP teams to tailor support for students' unique needs.
• Advocate for inclusion and promote understanding of Deaf culture within the school community.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation as needed.
