Job summary

The Stepping Stones Group, LLC is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for a contracted, school-based assignment in Pittsburgh, PA for the 2026-2027 school year. This full-time Building Nurse role supports a local K-12 district with nursing services.

Strong pediatric experience (3-5 years) and PA RN licensure, plus BLS CPR/AED, are required to provide essential health services, manage illnesses, and coordinate IHPs/IEPs within the school setting.

Qualifications

• Active PA RN license
• Graduate of an accredited ADN or BSN program
• Current BLS CPR/AED certification
• 3-5 years' pediatric experience
• Seizure management and rescue medications
• Tube feedings and pediatric diabetic care
• Oxygen and airway management
• Medication administration
• Catheterization
• Strong assessment and critical thinking skills

Responsibilities

• Provide first aid and manage everyday illnesses on campus
• Monitor students with chronic conditions and administer meds per orders
• Verify medical orders, document administration, and handle routine PRN meds
• Lead responder to medical emergencies on campus
• Train staff on emergency protocols and equipment use
• Develop and update IHPs, IEPs, and 504 Plans related to medical conditions
• Collaborate with parents and school staff on medical needs
• Conduct or assist health screenings (vision, hearing, BMI, BP)
• Delegate and supervise nursing tasks per state regulations
