Job summary

The Stepping Stones Group is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for a contracted, school-based placement in Cranston, RI for the 2026-2027 school year. This is a full-time Building Nurse role supporting a local K-12 district with nursing services.

Qualifications

• Active RN license valid in Rhode Island.
• Graduate of an accredited ADN or BSN program.
• Current BLS CPR/AED certification.
• Knowledge of nurse delegation practices and state scope-of-practice regulations.
• Ability to work independently and exercise clinical judgment.
• Experience working with a pediatric population.
• Required Experience: Diabetic management.
• Preferred: School-based nursing experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide first aid and manage everyday illnesses.
• Monitor students with chronic conditions and manage medications per orders.
• Verify medical orders and document medication administration.
• Act as lead responder to medical emergencies on campus.
• Train staff on emergency protocols and equipment use.
• Develop and update IHPs/IEPs/504 Plans and attend related meetings.
• Collaborate with parents and school staff on medical needs.
• Conduct or assist with health screenings.
• Delegate and supervise nursing tasks per state regulations.
