Taher Incorporated, a family-owned food service management company specializing in K-12 meals, is seeking a Chef for a school lunch program. This Monday–Friday position offers daytime hours, leading a kitchen team to ensure top service and high-quality meals.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in culinary arts or equivalent experience.
• Exemplary customer service skills.
• Purchasing experience and food cost control.
• Ability to manage, train, and motivate a team.
• Ability to perform in a fast-paced environment.
• Previous catering experience preferred.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Criminal background check clearance required.

Responsibilities

• Ensuring USDA regulations are followed.
• Meals prepared within time limits and meet quality standards.
• Manage ordering, receiving, storing and inventory control of perishables.
• Control waste and manage costs to budget.
• Maintain a clean, healthy, and safe kitchen environment.
• Establish monthly food and labor cost goals; perform cost analyses.
• Follow recipes, write menus, monitor costs.
• Assist in training team members.
• Lead all catering functions as needed.
• Perform related tasks assigned by leadership.
