Job summary

Camden City School District is seeking a Human Resources Specialist to support talent operations, maintenance of employee records, benefits administration, and time & attendance. You will collaborate with district administrators, payroll, and labor relations to ensure smooth HR processes.

The role requires 2–3 years in HR (K-12/public sector preferred) or an equivalent combination of education and experience, with strong knowledge of NJ employment laws and HRIS systems.

Qualifications

• Associates degree or 5 years public school HR experience.
• Knowledge of federal and state employment laws (FMLA, ADA, FLSA) and NJ regulations.
• Experience with HRIS and data management.
• Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Maintain confidential employee personnel files and electronic records.
• Process HR transactions: hires, transfers, leaves, retirements, terminations.
• Coordinate onboarding, fingerprinting, background checks, and compliance activities.
• Assist with recruitment, postings, screening, and new-hire documentation.
