Job summary

Denver Public Schools seeks an Emergency Management Specialist to support the District's Emergency Operations Plan across schools and facilities. You will apply emergency preparedness principles, train staff, and ensure compliance with district policies.

This role requires independent work, NIMS IS100/IS200, and at least 3 years in safety or emergency management; Colorado resident; Bachelor's preferred. 50% time in schools advising leaders on preparedness and troubleshooting issues.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree or relevant work experience required.
• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• 3 or more years of experience in safety or emergency management.
• NIMS IS100 and IS200 Required.
• Live and work with a permanent home address in Colorado.
• Ability to meet the physical demands of the position.

Responsibilities

• Maintains knowledge of emergency response and district policies.
• Reviews training materials and updates publications.
• Subject matter expertise on security technology placement and incident response.
• Schedules and conducts district-wide drills and trainings.
• Manages emergency management supplies and budget recommendations.
• Ensures compliance with emergency operations plan requirements.
