Job summary

Ann Arbor Public Schools is seeking a Technical Assistant for the ITD Department. This 10-month, 1.0 FTE position provides frontline support for district technology across devices, software, peripherals, and networks.

The role requires strong troubleshooting, customer service, and communication skills and offers opportunities to train staff, support classrooms, and participate in technology projects within an educational setting.

Qualifications

Associate degree or certification in a computer-related field.
A+ Certification or equivalent experience.
Familiarity with MacOS, iOS, Windows, Chrome OS and Android.
Experience providing first-level technical support in an educational setting.
Experience with installation, upgrade, repair, and maintenance of computer hardware/software.

Responsibilities

Provide first-line technical support to district faculty, staff and students for all district technology.
Provide training to building personnel and district PD days.
Monitor daily technology status in assigned area.
Maintain technology inventory for assigned buildings.
Assist teachers with use of technology in the classroom.
Participate in system implementations as needed.
Manage help desk requests and assist staff and students as needed.
Troubleshoot software/hardware problems and perform minor repairs.
Troubleshoot basic network issues (switches, cabling, etc.).
Install software and hardware upgrades.
Identify and resolve technology problems; escalate when needed.
Support MacOS, iOS, Windows and Chrome OS applications.
Troubleshoot printing, wireless, sound, copier and phone issues.
Stay current on K-12 tech tools and provide training.
