Job description

About Magma Math

Magma is one of the world’s fastest-growing and most celebrated edtech companies, transforming math education. Our platform turns handwritten solutions into digital insights, empowering teachers to focus on creativity and deeper learning — while giving them real-time visibility into student progress.

The result? More inclusive, engaging, and effective math classrooms for all learners.

But we’re not just building better tools. We’re tackling one of the biggest challenges in global education: math underperformance. With 1 in 5 students globally struggling in math — a subject that forms the backbone of so many career paths — we believe the opportunity to improve outcomes at scale is massive.

We’re already the go-to solution in thousands of schools — and we’re just getting started. As we expand rapidly across the U.S. and Europe, we’re building a team as ambitious as our mission: to help millions of students unlock their full potential in math.

About the role

Your main goal: build, manage, and amplify Magma's presence in the "rooms" where math leaders gather. You'll run our educator events, the ambassador program, our webinars, and the places online where math teachers and coaches already talk. You'll also build the system that turns happy customers into references, case studies and speakers. We want a community that's bigger than our customer list. You'll work with two groups: education leaders, and the people who set instructional strategy, from curriculum directors to chief academic officers.

What you'll do
  • Regional educator and math leader events. Small, local events for coaches, coordinators and curriculum directors. You'll plan the calendar and format with the VPs of Marketing and Customer Success, then run them: city selection, invite list, logistics.

  • The ambassador program. Grow what we have. Recruitment, onboarding, a clear exchange of what ambassadors get and give, and a nomination path with Customer Success.

  • The digital community. Own how Magma shows up where educators already gather, including Facebook and LinkedIn groups.

  • Webinars and customer PD. Programming people would attend even if they weren't customers, with educators presenting more often than we do. You'll run it with Customer Success and our Professional Learning Manager.

  • Advocacy and references. Find the districts willing to vouch for us, with Customer Success. Keep track of who's referenceable, who was last asked, whose permission needs renewing, and who's being asked too often.

  • Community intelligence. Know what educators are actually saying, and bring it back in a form we can use.

  • Room to grow. Convenings for district leaders and our customer advisory board sit with the VP of Marketing for now. This is the role that grows into them.

What you’ll need
  • Experience in edtech or K-12. This is the one we’re firm on. You already know how educators talk, what a curriculum director's may looks like, and why "one more platform" is a fair thing to complain about. Former teachers, coaches, and district staff, we’d love to hear from you

  • Range across audiences: comfortable moving between a casual conversation with a classroom teacher and a more polished one with a district-level contact

  • You can write. A webinar invite, an ambassador email, a reply that sounds like a person rather than a brand account

  • Project management instincts. This job is a lot of small things at once and you like keeping the plates spinning

  • Good judgment about when to jump in, when to just listen, and when to hand something to support or sales

  • Open to travel for events during the school year

Bonus
  • Experience in community, field marketing, events, customer marketing, or social

  • Classroom, coaching, or district office experience

  • You’ve built a program that didn’t exist before, at any size

  • You’ve moderated an online space through something tricky

  • Comfortable in HubSpot or a comparable CRM, where the advocacy work lives

What we offer
  • Play a key role in an exciting journey. We are a young company with ambitious targets and meaningful goals

  • Fantastic colleagues in a fun environment with great opportunities to learn

  • Competitive remuneration & benefit package

  • Annual company trip

  • An opportunity to work on a meaningful mission and have an exceptional impact on education, society and how children learn math across the world

Start: As soon as possible

Salary: The salary range for this full-time role is $70k-$95k per year. Actual compensation will be determined based on the candidate's experience, skill level, and location.

Office location:NYC

Note: We practice a 4-day in office policy, and we look forward to working together closely with you.
