Job summary

Turner & Townsend Heery in Beaufort, SC is seeking an experienced Construction Project Manager for K-12 Education projects. You will coordinate with designers, contractors, and school administrators to deliver projects on time and within budget.

Ideal candidates have 5–8 years of Owner’s Representative or PM experience, a degree in Construction Management, Architecture, or Engineering, and professional registration such as PE, RA, or AIA.

Qualifications

• Experience advising at a strategic level during project conception to meet client objectives.
• Strong time management ensuring quality standards and timely delivery.
• Ability to build solid client relationships and cross-functional teams.
• Proven track record as a collaborative team member on commissions.
• Business development experience with existing and new clients possible.
• Knowledge of financial terms and project budgeting concepts.
• Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings and contract documents.
• Working knowledge of MS Project and construction practices.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with design professionals, contractors and administrators to meet specs and codes.
• Manage budget, schedule, procurement, quality and risk across projects.
• Interface with client and consultants at all stages.
• Produce detailed project plans and action plans to meet objectives.
• Monitor performance and track progress against budgets and timelines.
• Manage change control processes and change orders.
• Assess change requests for impact on scope, budget, schedule, quality and risk.
• Maintain project information flow with regular meetings and communications.
• Prepare formal budget progress and other reports.
• Ensure quality control per defined standards.
• Contribute to proposals for new work and variations.
• Identify opportunities to improve PM procedures and templates.
• Support governance, processes and systems for project delivery.
• Ensure data integrity and timely documentation.
• Apply risk management routines with mitigation and contingency plans.
• Monitor client invoicing and overall financial status of projects.
