Job summary

Chicago Public Schools seeks an Audiologist to evaluate and treat hearing needs for students, collaborating with educators and families to support access to curriculum. The role involves administering tests, managing devices, and ensuring effective auditory access within the school setting.

The position requires a Doctorate of Audiology, an active IL IDPFR license, and at least five years of experience, with K-12 background strongly preferred.

Qualifications

• Doctorate of Audiology from an accredited college or university.
• Valid Illinois IDPFR License in Audiology.
• Minimum of five years of professional audiologist experience.
• Experience in a K-12 environment strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Administer and interpret tests to determine type and degree of hearing impairment, site of damage, and effects on comprehension and speech.
• Manage hearing aids and assistive listening devices for students.
• Collaborate with school staff to provide strategies for adapting learning tasks to standards and environment.
• Maintain accurate student records and progress notes, and participate in IEP/504 meetings as needed.
