Job summary

Pearson is seeking a Specialist within the Content Development team to develop K-12 assessments for state and district clients. You will work as a content and assessment expert, collaborating with educators, departments, and partners to create accessible assessments in line with standards.

This is a 12-month limited term position. Responsibilities include item development across multiple formats, AI-assisted content improvement, and coordinating with writers and educators to meet high-quality

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in education, content-specific area, or equivalent experience required
• Five years’ experience as an elementary or secondary teacher in the field of content-specific area preferred
• Professional knowledge of content-specific area and educational trends required
• Some experience in large-scale, educational measurement preferred
• Demonstrated excellence in AI-supported content development or readiness to leverage AI in content creation

Responsibilities

• Develop and review content-specific test items across multiple grade levels for large-scale assessments
• Help develop item and test specifications, blueprints, and ancillary documents
• Leverage AI-powered tools to support development, review, and enhancement of assessment content
• Collaborate with team to integrate AI-generated assets in assessment workflows
• Select, manage, and train writers and educators for item development
• Facilitate customer meetings and provide content assessment expertise
• Stay current with emerging technologies relevant to educational content creation and assessment including AI
