Job summary

AHC Hospitality is seeking a part-time Public Area Cleaner to uphold a 4-diamond guest experience across public spaces in our Grand Rapids properties. You will ensure cleanliness, assist guests, and collaborate with multiple departments to deliver timely service.

Responsibilities include cleaning lounges, restrooms, pools, fitness areas, lobbies, and back-of-house spaces. The role requires weekend availability, attention to detail, and the ability to stand and perform duties for extended periods.

Qualifications

• Must be reliable and willing to work weekends and holidays.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the cleanliness of public spaces including the Concierge lounge, restrooms, hospitality suites, pool and fitness center, and lobby areas.
• Assist guests with requests promptly and maintain positive interdepartmental relationships.
• Perform deep cleaning in public spaces and back-of-house areas to ensure a pristine environment.
• Operate cleaning equipment such as brooms, mops, vacuums, and floor scrubbing machines.
• Follow directions from supervisors and work independently to meet cleanliness expectations.

This is a part‑time position requiring weekend availability, with varying shifts. This position is eligible for discounted downtown parking, free employee meals, DailyPay, hotel and restaurant discounts and more.

SUMMARY

The public area cleaner is a key individual in providing a 4 diamond experience through interactions with guests as well as providing a clean and welcoming environment the second guests walk through the front door. The public area cleaner must ensure that all public spaces meet our 4 diamond expectations for cleanliness, as well as assist our guests with all of their requests in a timely manner. They must also ensure positive interdepartmental relationships as they will interact with all departments throughout the hotel.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Maintain the cleanliness of the following spaces
• Concierge lounge restroom
• Hospitality suites
• Pool and fitness center
• 2nd floor pre‑function space and restrooms
• 1st floor public area including Margaux restrooms
• Lower lobby
• Associate locker rooms
• Must be able to communicate orally and verbally in English (Preferred)
• Deliver all guest requests within 15 minutes
• Work independently to ensure all areas meet our 4 diamond cleanliness expectations
• Perform deep cleaning projects throughout the public spaces and back of the house areas to ensure a pristine environment for the guests and associates
• Must be able to sweep, mop, vacuum, and use floor scrubbing equipment
• Perform any other tasks as assigned by the supervisor

REQUIRED SKILLS

• Must be reliable; willing to work weekends and holidays
• Able to use different types of chemicals
• Requires the ability to work independently and follow directions as assigned by supervisors
• Must have a keen eye for detail
• Must be comfortable entering restrooms of the opposite sex
• Must keep cart clear of unapproved items to avoid damage

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Related experience is preferred.
