Job summary

Briarcliff Manor Union Free School District is seeking a head coach for the Athletic Department. The role requires seasoned coaching experience across major sports and a strong grasp of technical sport aspects. The coach will model exemplary character and guide student athletes both on and off the field.

The position entails supervising staff, coordinating with the athletic director and principals, and upholding program policies and safety standards.

Qualifications

Has the ability to organize and supervise a total sports program.
Has previous successful coaching experience in assigned sport (major sports).
The head coach must have substantial knowledge of the technical aspects of the sport and stay updated with new theories and procedures.
The head coach must serve as a positive role model for student athletes through actions and instruction.

Responsibilities

Instruct athletes in fundamental skills, strategy, and physical training for team success.
Upgrade knowledge and skills through coaching clinics, observations, and consultations.
Supervise and support a staff of high school and middle school coaches in coordination with the athletic director and principal.
Participate in budgeting, equipment management, and scheduling for the sports program.
Mentor student athletes to develop character traits such as trustworthiness, respect, responsibility, and citizenship.
Monitor student grades and conduct and address discipline as needed.
