Qualifications

• Must have an associate degree in a related field and two years of job-related experience in a human services setting.
• Alternatively, four years of direct case management experience with offenders and their families.
• Or two years of experience at the lower level Juv. Probation/Parole Specialist 1 or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Interview probationers and parolees to monitor progress and enforce probation terms.
• Recommend actions for non-compliance and initiate court action when needed.
• Administer drug and alcohol tests, including random screens, to verify treatment compliance.
• Prepare and maintain case folders and write progress reports.
• Counsel on issues like substance abuse and anger management and arrange appropriate treatment services.
• Supervise community-based sentences and conduct field visits for supervision.
