Georgia Department of Juvenile Justice seeks a Juvenile Probation Parole Specialist II to support rehabilitation of offenders in custody or on probation at Fulton MSC & HITS in East Point, GA. You will help develop rehabilitation plans and monitor compliance with conditions.

Responsibilities include interviewing offenders, documenting progress, coordinating treatment services, and testifying in court when required, with POST certification due within six months.

Formación

• Associate degree in a related field and two years of job-related experience in a human services setting.
• Or four years of direct case management experience working with offenders and their families.
• Or two years of experience at the lower-level Juv. Probation/Parole Spec 1 (SSP130) or position equivalent.
• Must possess and maintain Georgia POST certification within the first six months of employment.

Responsabilidades

• Interview probationers and parolees to evaluate progress and compliance with contracts.
• Recommend remedial action or initiate court action for non-compliance.
• Administer drug and alcohol tests to verify program compliance.
• Prepare and maintain case folders for assigned offenders.
• Discuss factors like substance abuse and anger management with offenders.
• Conduct pre-hearing investigations and testify regarding offenders' backgrounds.
• Inform offenders of conditional release requirements and stipulations.
• Write reports describing offenders' progress and evaluations.
• Counsel clients with substance abuse issues and arrange treatment services.
• Supervise community-based sentences and conduct field visits.
