Job summary

Center for Human Development (CHD) in Springfield, MA is seeking Cooks to join our Juvenile Justice Programs, with locations in Springfield and Westfield. This role supports nutritious meals and vocational training for residents.

You will prepare menus that meet the Bureau of Nutrition standards, cook daily meals and evening snacks, maintain a clean kitchen, and ensure all health codes are followed. Serve Safe certification is preferred, and reliable transportation is required.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an approved cooking school.
• Baking skills.
• Knowledge of local, state, and federal sanitary and health codes.
• Serve Safe Certification preferred.
• Pass pre-assignment physical examination.
• Must be 21 years of age.
• Must have reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and implement varied menus meeting nutritional standards.
• Cook daily meals and prepare evening snack per schedule.
• Maintain clean kitchen, storage, and dining areas.
• Ensure compliance with health and sanitation codes.
• Work with residents in vocational training.
• Attend staff meetings as required.
